Long Marton Station, 3 miles north of Appleby on the scenic Settle - Carlisle Railway in Cumbria famous for its steam trains, closed in 1970 but has been painstakingly restored since 1993.  Situated in the unspoilt Eden Valley in Westmorland, with the Lake District hills to the west and the Pennines to the east, the Station is the ideal base for exploring the Lake District, the North of England, the Yorkshire Dales and the Scottish Borders.  The nearest shops and public transport are three miles away at Appleby (trains and buses).

The accommodation sleeps up to 6 plus a baby, in a family bedroom with a king-size bed and one or two single beds, and a twin bedroom.  The family bedroom has an en-suite bathroom (lavatory and washbasin).  Electricity and gas is included, and bed linen (except for the cot) is provided, plus towels on request.  A 25% deposit (non-refundable) is payable on booking, the balance of 75% being payable two months before the holiday starts.  There is a Welcome pack on arrival.  For more  information, or to book, ring David and Madeleine Adams on 017683 62022 or 0161 775 5669.

Pets are welcome provided they are kept under control, exercised off the premises, kept out of the bedrooms and off the furniture, and never left in the Station unattended.
